As in most professions, dedication to the coaching craft requires constant learning and stretching oneself into our next level of potential – what is now possible for us to contribute that might not have been earlier in our life. I happily just received another renewal of my Master Certified Coach certification (MCC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), which I first earned 19 years ago.
This latest certification was based on Systemic Team Coaching training over the past several years with Professor Peter Hawkins PhD of Renewal Associates and the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC) in the UK. Team coaching has been the greatest learning of my career since my original executive coach training with New Ventures West in 2002-2003. This has certainly transformed my business and unlocked my own potential for developing teams, a fascination that started 50 years ago when I was in Boy Scouts (yes, really!), in my childhood hometown of Piedmont, California.
This training and work also led to the formation of Global Team Impact (GTI) with my five other team coach partners. We work with CEOs and their executive teams and senior leadership teams, and it is tremendously gratifying to help them unlock their potential to do great things together. We support companies in technology, life sciences, financial services, professional services, education, and community building enterprises.
We are all travelers on a journey of learning – about our craft, ourselves and life.
Best wishes for your learning journey in 2024. May you bring a positive impact to the world that inspires future generations to do the same.
